U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel & Filmmaker Lynette Jones Creates Web Series Covid 19 Blues A Comedy Series In Order To Provide Humor And Hope

COVID 19 Blues Web Series

SPRING LAKE, NC – A YouTube digital series, COVID 19 Blues written and produced by Army Lieutenant Colonel Lynette Jones premiered on YouTube last month. Jones is the creator and star of the two short films, Kandace Queen and Grandma Ghost. 

Faith-based Film Maker, Jones has created 13 weekly episodes of comedic shorts COVID 19 Blues to lighten the challenging stay-at-home orders that we have all been requested to honor.  The audience response to these short vignettes has been unanimous, “a hearty weekly laugh to lighten one’s heart and strengthen ones resolve and faith as we all strive to handle a challenging situation.”

Jones is emerging as an original story teller and film maker with two short films accomplished in the last two years, KANDACE QUEEN and the recently premiered film, GRANDMA GHOST.  KANDACE QUEEN, entered into several film festivals, has won awards, for best special effects in a short film, best artistic film and best short film in the Faith Based Film Festival (Kingdomwood International Film Festival) 2019.

Grandma Ghost premiered at the Country Club Church of Christ in Fayetteville, N.C. on February 29th, 2020. The Red Carpet event featured, Singer/Song Writer Makeda Francisco, who composed and performed The Movie Sound Track original song, “Could You Be The One?” at the premiere.  She is known as featured singer for the well-known group, Rolls Royce. Over 200 people attended the Premiere dressed to the 9’s, and enjoyed the wonderful short film and entertainment.

As a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Jones is an advocate for the protection of the American people, always wanting to make the world a better and safer place. Jones desires to break through the digital web and hopes to one day be one of the pioneers in the movement toward black women filmmakers becoming more visible in the media. Jones is serving her country and making a statement through her filmmaking.
