Industrial Polymers was approached by their rope coating customers to develop a coating for military use. Today this coating is known as “Fiberlock” and is the main spec for military rope coating contracts. The Fiberlock extends the life, locks out dirt and sand and provides more slip, and provides a color coat for the rope.
Industrial Polymers was also asked to develop military helicopter lifting slings. Their experienced chemist formulated TrueKote CS 252 for the neck mold, a high strength flexible molding product and Purecast 603 for the eye, a high strength abrasion resistant coating. Along with lifting slings, they also started to produce synthetic rubber coating for the floors of tactical vehicles.
