Titled “Deo Gratias”, the documentary upholds the beloved Father Solanus’s inspirational stories of optimism and survival in the face of devastating catastrophes and his heroic faith that instill hope amid the current COVID-19 crisis.

In the words of Berghouse, Solanus was the “door opener” to hope. He lived through some of the most catastrophic events in history but never lost hope in the face of adversities. From Diptheria to The Great Depression to both the World Wars, he survived all, despite his illness and personal losses.

The Blessed Solanus Casey was the anchor of hope and he can open the door to help us in our fight against the trial and tribulations that we face with COVID-19 today. His never-say-die spirit and optimism in the face of dire difficulties inspired many to endure through excruciating times. In the times of The Great Depression, CEO’s of leading automotive companies, husbands, wives, mothers daughters, sons, and individuals across all ethnic and economical lines would seek direction from Father Solanus Casey in hopes of finding a breath of promise amidst great darkness and devastation.

“The world is passing through a pandemic and Solanus can open the door to love, faith and complete confidence in God. He can anchor us, pray for us, assist us as we wade through the current COVID-19 chaos. We are hopeful, the new documentary ‘Deo Gratias’ will serve to bring promise and hope and strength through the motivational story in the life of a great man,” stated Berghouse.

Born in an Irish immigrant family in Wisconsin in 1870, Bernard Francis Casey was the 6th child of Ellen Elizabeth Murphy and Bernard James Casey. At the tender age of 21, he witnessed an incident which led him to evaluate his life and eventually take the road to priesthood. He commenced his journey to priesthood through Saint Francis De Sales Seminary, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Solanus never lost hope, never lost faith – and for millions of individuals and countless corporations he continues to open the door to God.

An ardent follower of Solanus, Berghouse confides that his teachings have had an enormous impact on her personal life. “I will be forever changed, forever blessed by the spiritual impact that Father Solanus has had on my life. He has brought me closer to hearing the voice of God. He has taught me to thank God ahead of time (Deo Gratias) and he has taught me to pray with complete confidence, as Solanus said “Confidence is the very soul of prayer.”
