Don't GO Hollywood Combines Local Streetwear and Visual Arts

Fashion trends are cyclical, and currently, retro styles and streetwear are what’s in. There are so many options to step up one’s fashion game, but only one brand offers both retro and streetwear styles. Don’t GO Hollywood takes the ’90s vintage tour shirt style with a satire of today’s celebrities and pop stars; their very own designs are perfect for the hipster streetwear fit that more and more people want.

Don’t GO Hollywood is an independent brand that does all of its designs and most of the printing in house. Pulling different inspirations from both Virginia and New York, the brand’s unique perspectives sets them apart in the fashion game. They will also be offering opportunities to collaborate with their brand for other up-and-coming designers looking for an outlet.

This new streetwear and visual art brand was created by Dan Walker and Torland Greene Jr. Dan is a New York visual artist and designer, while Torland is the CEO of an Ars Media Arts Group. Their collaboration sparked the idea for the brand name “Don’t GO Hollywood.” The label is a play of words of the infamous phrase “going Hollywood.” By switching up the expression, Dan and Torland express the message to just be one’s self. Their brand encourages clients, artists, the industry, and their larger audience to stay true to what they believe ina process related to loving and trusting oneself.

Dan has an excellent eye for the dark streetwear styles and fashion stemming from New York in the past three years. He is especially inspired by some unique, single pieces featured in Brian Woods’s brick and mortar store in New York City, BWOODS NYC. Meanwhile, Torland Greene has been focusing his creative talents on developing brands and working as a CEO for Ars Media Arts Group, better known as Ars MAG. Both had a “gut” feeling about launching an edgy brand and are now taking Don’t GO Hollywood to new heights. Together the two have put their ideas and talents in synergy to build a fresh look that challenges the status quo in the streetwear world.

Their undying passion for designing graphic T-shirts pushed their drive to start their brand. In a way, Dan and Torland get to share their artworks with the general public and see them wear them on the streets with confidence. They believe that success starts in making little steps first, and they are looking to open a few storefronts and collaborations with other established brands and upcoming brands to grow their own brand better.

Don’t GO Hollywood’s apparel line offers both style and comfort. Dan and Torland take great pride in making their very own designs and printing them on their clothing pieces. As Dan and Torland bring local businesses to the forefront of the industry, they provide an effective platform for entrepreneurs to showcase their talents.
