Stephanie Heijdra Reaches New Milestone as a Distinguished Barrister at Clerksroom

This marks her first anniversary with her chambers Clerksroom.

Stephanie Heijdra is a barrister specializing in family, property, landlord & tenant, civil and immigration law at Clerksroom. This month is her first anniversary with her chambers Clerksroom, where she works as a self-employed barrister.

Clerksroom is a leader in England and Wales, providing legal representation, consultation, and mediation services.

Heijdra is public access accredited, also known as direct access, so that she can be instructed by the public without the need of instructing a solicitor, via Clerksroom Direct. Her practice has grown from strength to strength, and she continues to secure repeat businesses from clients who instruct her for further hearings on their matter as and when required.

“A lay client can instruct a barrister directly and take care of litigation themselves, which is cheaper than also instructing a solicitor,” shared Heijdra.

She studied for a law degree at the University of Liverpool and was awarded her LLB, enabling her to start her bar professional training course (BPTC) while simultaneously studying for an LLM in human rights law at Manchester Metropolitan University. She also has an LLM in legal practice.

Heijdra continued her education at BPP University London, earning a degree in business management to support her thriving immigration practice, Winvolved Consultancy Ltd. She is a level 3 immigration caseworker with the OISC and a level 2 immigration and asylum caseworker with the Law Society.

Along with her paid work in family, property, landlord & tenant, civil and immigration law, Heijdra supports charities such as Youth for Human Rights International (YHRI), which educates youth about human rights — specifically the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights — and inspires them to become advocates for tolerance and peace. Among her pro bono efforts is ensuring access to justice for disenfranchised minorities and others.

Heijdra is a member of the Family Law as well as the Property Bar Association and an advocate for improved treatment of ethnic minorities in the legal system and beyond. She is a co-founder of the YHRI African Chapter, which has supporters throughout Europe, the United States of America and Africa.

One of her instructing legal representatives, Craig, dubbed Heijdra as a family law barrister with a heart. He has this to say about the barrister, “Stephanie is one of the most dedicated, trusted and kindest barristers I have had the pleasure of working with. I regularly instruct her to handle my clients’ cases with respect to family law. She is simply outstanding and anyone who is lucky enough to work with this amazing woman will gain the best result possible.”
