Decentraland Most Popular P2E Project in the UK Despite the Huge Global Popularity of Axie Infinity
Research carried out by Play to Earn Diary leveraging Google Data shows that Decentraland is most popular in the U.K. The research compiled data from global and U.K. search trends which demonstrated a shocking result. Global Axie infinity searches over the year amassed 3.3 million searches compared to Decentraland’s 364.6 thousand global searches.
The surprising figure is the U.K. search trends which garnered 49.5 thousand searches for Decentraland and just 27.1 thousand searches for Axie Infinity. The rise in Decentraland’s popularity in the U.K. also coincides with the recent rise in P2E adoption for the region. Research carried out by several platforms showed that the U.K. adoption rate in P2E is now 7.6% and is expected to double as the crypto segment continues to grow overall and regulation will favor asset creation and holding of cryptocurrencies.
According to city minister John Glen, “We want this country to be there leading from the front, seeking out the greatest economic opportunities” when talking about crypto and fintech adoption in the U.K. Glen’s comment is backed by year-over-year data, with the U.K. projected to continually grow with NFT gaming adoption and propel ahead of other world powers that have adoption rates as high as 30% in P2E. On the global scale, Axie Infinity burst onto the scene hard, spreading quickly mostly in India, the Philippines, U.S.A, and Canada where at its height, Axie was even spreading to mainstream news media. However, the interesting component here is the lack of popularity relative to the U.K. While the U.K. has not been a first mover in the overall crypto market and regulatory legislation has been slow, the population has taken a keen interest in the Decentraland P2E project.
With a large gaming population and disposable household wealth, the U.K. is an ideal region to foster growth for the Decentraland project. Recent data trends have already revealed significant growth with the population’s interest in crypto with many predicting the U.K. as the next ‘crypto hub’ and with backing from legislation to push the region as a “world leader” in crypto, it is very much possible.
