Seattle’s Sky View Observatory at Columbia Center Anticipates A Record Cruise Season by Expanding Operations and Introducing An Updated Lounge Experience
The Pacific Northwest’s Tallest 360 Degree View Café and lounge will provide guests with a more elevated experience 902 feet above the city.

Seattle, Washington – April 11, 2023 – Sky View Observatory will be this season’s must-visit stop for cruise passengers seeking an elevated food and beverage experience with unmatched views of Seattle. Effective April 13, Sky View Observatory, Lounge, and Café will now be open seven days a week from noon until 8 pm. The Observatory is conveniently located in the heart of Downtown Seattle only steps from major hotels and attractions.

The lounge now features a selection of Washington State’s best wines, local Seattle brews, and creative hand-crafted cocktails like the Lavender Sunset or Seattle Pop. Guests can now enjoy an expanded menu of shareable charcuterie boards and flatbreads, delicious sandwiches, and salads.

Sky Views’ newly debuted floor-to-ceiling windows provide the only perch high enough where visitors can capture the expansive views of downtown Seattle’s skyscrapers and its city lights, the Waterfront and Elliott Bay’s magical sunsets, and the towering Mt. Rainier and Cascade Mountains, and the majestic Olympic Mountains. Only Sky View can offer these views from its elevation.

Commenting on the expansion, Edgar Vidal, general manager, Sky View Observatory, said “By expanding our operating hours and lounge offer we can continue to serve locals while we welcome discerning guests from all over North America who come to Seattle for our city’s famous food and beverage culture.”

He goes on to say, “Our observatory lounge will continue to serve as the go-to spot for downtown locals. Seattleites will now be joined by the many discerning cruise ship passengers who are looking to explore the view above the city while enjoying a menu that features uniquely Northwest food and drinks.”

In addition to small parties, Sky View Observatory remains an incredible venue for group events.  There is a team ready to help clients organize a celebration of birthdays, engagements, weddings, anniversaries, friend outings, a family get-to-together, happy hours/socials, marking a new job or promotion, organizing team building, a retirement, and more.

Sky View Observatory rests at the top of the iconic Columbia Center. Developed by Martin Selig, the 76-story, 1.5 million square foot tower was completed in 1985. Clad in smoked tempered glass and Carnelian granite, the structure boasts 8,800 windows, 2,100 hydronic heat pumps, 48 elevators, and 6 escalators.
