Sydney, NSW – Remonda Martinez, the CEO of Blue Haven Pools, is one of Australia’s most respected business leaders. Her focused, ruthless, and never-say-die mentality, along with countless recognitions from different organizations, helped her enter the list of Australia’s Top 100 Women in 2021.

Remonda is the daughter of Mr Ray Awadallah, the founder of Blue Haven Pools. However, that didn’t give her an advantage to becoming the CEO at all. She started working as a receptionist at the age of 16 in the company even after she had three jobs at that time. Remonda’s enthusiasm to learn about the intricate pool concepts, designing pools, after-sales service, and lodging council applications, soon saw her rise through the ranks in the company.
Mr Ray Awadallah finally handed over the reins to her daughter in 2011, making her one of the rare female leaders in the construction industry. Her passion and dedication towards taking the company to great heights made her the leader that she is today. She made Blue Haven Pools the world’s first company that sold swimming pools online. Her achievement made Blue Haven Pools a part of 2021’s Australian Financial Review’s Top 10 Most Innovative Companies.
As she steps into her 11th year of leading the company, she already has tons of achievements under her belt. Her vision was to make Blue Haven Pools one of the best companies to design and install swimming pools in Australia. After she took over, the company had built approximately 1,000 pools every year. Blue Haven Pools also won the 2021 Local Business Award for Most Outstanding Specialized Business in Fairfield City.
With the company nearing its 50th anniversary in the business, Remonda feels that the construction industry is slowly experiencing a change in recent times. The journey is still long but with the likes of Remonda at the forefront of the change, the industry is on track to remove gender barriers and stereotypes. Remonda will soon launch a sales and monitoring program in 2022 for women who want to know about pool design, sales, communication, customer service, and personal presentation.
